On 10th January 2019, the Portuguese Council of Ministers approved a Decree-Law regarding the regime of the Investment and Real Estate Management Companies, also known as Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT).
The legal regime of the Investment and Real Estate Management Companies has enabled the constitution in Portugal of companies with the main purpose of promoting investment and boosting the real estate market, in particular the rental market.
